American Tattoo Society announces that it has finalized the contract to open tattoo shops on military bases.

Fayetteville, NC (August 7, 2020) – American Tattoo Society (ATS) who has some of the largest & highest rated tattoo studios in the country announced today that it has entered an agreement with the Army & Air Force Exchange Service to be the first tattoo studio allowed to operate on a military installation.  “We have been working on this for some time and are thrilled to be the tattoo studio chosen by AAFES & the US Military to open on the largest military bases in the world,” says Ryan Harrell who along with his wife Nicole Harrell own American Tattoo Society & the All American Tattoo Conventions.

Tattooing in the US has long been tied to the military with most of the first tattoo shops being located right outside of a military base. “Almost 90% of combat soldiers have at least one tattoo, so this is not a trend that will go away anytime soon. We feel it is better for the military to have a high-end tattoo shop on base to monitor the activity and ensure the safety of their soldiers.”

American Tattoo Society plans to open its first on-base location in Las Vegas Nevada at Nellis Air Force Base within the next few months. Ryan says they have plans for at least 5 other base locations, including their home base of Fort Bragg, set to open in the next 18-24 months. American Tattoo Society’s 6,000 square foot location on Yadkin Rd right outside of Fort Bragg NC and 5,000 square foot shop outside of Camp LeJeune NC will operate as normal with their 30+ tattoo artists & piercers.
