Terms of Service →Refund Policy →

Your business is your business. This policy explains what information we collect when you use americantattoosociety.com, book with our studios, or shop with us — and what we do and don’t do with it. It works alongside our Terms of Service and Refund Policy.

Who we are

American Tattoo Society (“ATS,” “we,” “us”) operates tattoo and piercing studios and this website. Main office: 5439 Yadkin Road, Suite 118, Fayetteville, NC 28303. Questions about this policy: contact@americantattoosociety.com.

Information you give us

When you use our forms, chat, or store, you may provide:

Contact and inquiry details. Name, email, phone number, and whatever you tell us when you start a Tattoo Talk, message our chat, apply through our careers pages, or join a studio waitlist.

Photos and design references. If you send us pictures — of existing tattoos for cover-up assessments, reference images, or healed work — we use them to consult on and perform your service.

Order information. When you buy from our store, checkout is processed by Shopify: your name, shipping address, email, and payment details go to Shopify and its payment processors. We never see or store your full card number.

Appointment and service records. Bookings, deposits, and service history are kept in our customer management system so your studio can serve you.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, we use cookies and similar technologies from a small set of services:

  • Google Analytics and Google Ads — how visitors use the site, and measurement of our advertising
  • Meta (Facebook/Instagram) Pixel and TikTok Pixel — measurement of our ads on those platforms and audiences for them
  • Our chat and forms provider (LeadConnector/HighLevel) — to make the chat widget and forms work and connect your conversation to your contact record

These collect things like pages visited, device and browser type, approximate location, and interactions (such as starting a Tattoo Talk or beginning checkout). They do not collect your name or contact details unless you provide them.

How we use your information

To respond to your inquiries and give you quotes; to book, perform, and follow up on services; to process and ship orders; to send appointment communications; to send marketing you’ve opted into (you can leave any time); to understand how the site is used and improve it; to measure and improve our advertising; and to protect our business and comply with law.

Text messaging (SMS)

If you provide your phone number and opt in, we may text you about your inquiry, appointments, and — only with your consent — promotions. Message frequency varies; message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to opt out, or HELP for help. We do not share your text messaging opt-in or phone number with third parties or affiliates for their marketing purposes. Consent to receive texts is never a condition of purchasing anything from us.

How we share information

We share information only with the service providers that run our business: Shopify (store and checkout), Google, Meta, and TikTok (analytics and advertising, as described above), LeadConnector/HighLevel (forms, chat, and customer communications), and our hosting and infrastructure providers (Vercel, Cloudflare). Each processes data to provide their service to us. We may also disclose information when the law requires it, or in connection with a business transaction such as a sale of the company.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

Your choices

Marketing emails: unsubscribe link in every message. Texts: reply STOP. Cookies and ads: you can clear or block cookies in your browser, and opt out of personalized advertising at Google’s ad settings, Meta’s ad preferences, and in TikTok’s app settings. Analytics: Google offers a browser opt-out.

Depending on where you live — including Virginia and Texas, where we operate studios — you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information we hold about you, and to opt out of targeted advertising. Email contact@americantattoosociety.com with your request and we’ll respond as required by your state’s law. We won’t treat you differently for exercising your rights.

Retention and security

We keep information as long as needed for the purposes above — service records longer, since tattoo and piercing history is genuinely useful to you and to us across visits — then delete or anonymize it. We use reputable providers and reasonable safeguards to protect your information, but no system is perfectly secure, so please use good judgment about what you send us.

Minors

You must be 18 to get tattooed and to use our online store. Piercing services for minors require a parent or legal guardian, and any minor’s information we collect in that process is handled under this policy. Our website is not directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information online.

Third-party links

Our site links to social platforms and other services (Instagram, TikTok, Google Maps, and others). Their privacy practices are their own — this policy covers only us.

Changes

We’ll update this policy as our practices or tools change, and the date at the top reflects the current version. Meaningful changes get a notice on the site.
